1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the Swaptape mobile application and related services (the "Service"), which are provided by MONORIFT s. r. o., Brezova 478/6, 044 20 Mala Ida, Slovakia ("MONORIFT", "we", "us", or "our").
Swaptape is a private, invite-only voice sharing app for small groups. This policy describes the data practices that apply to the current product behavior in the app.
2. Information we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created through your use of the Service, and limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
- Account and profile information, such as your user ID, name, display name, email address, and profile image if one is available through sign-in.
- Authentication and session information needed to sign you in and keep your account secure.
- Group and tape information, such as group names, membership, invite codes, tape names, tape activity, and related metadata.
- User content, such as audio recordings you upload, label artwork or other images you upload for tapes, comments you post, reactions you leave, and similar content you create in the Service.
- Notification data, such as your installation ID, push token, device platform, notification permission status, and notification preferences.
- Usage and diagnostics information, such as app interactions, screen views, app lifecycle events, crash information, unhandled errors, device or operating system information, IP address, and similar technical telemetry.
- Communications you send to us, including support requests and account-related emails.
Swaptape does not request precise location data from your device.
3. How we use information
- To create and manage your account.
- To authenticate you and keep the Service secure.
- To operate core app features, including private groups, tapes, recordings, playback, reactions, comments, label uploads, and notifications.
- To store and deliver your uploaded recordings and label artwork.
- To personalize limited in-app account and group experiences.
- To monitor reliability, diagnose crashes and errors, and improve product performance.
- To understand product usage and improve the Service.
- To respond to support requests and other communications.
- To enforce our Terms & Conditions and protect the Service, our users, and our legal rights.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not state in this policy that we use your information for marketing promotions because that is not the current use case reflected in the app behavior covered by this document.
4. Legal bases for processing
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with similar requirements, we generally process personal data on one or more of the following bases:
- performance of a contract with you, when we provide the Service you requested;
- our legitimate interests, such as operating, securing, analyzing, and improving the Service;
- compliance with legal obligations;
- your consent, where consent is required, such as certain notification permissions on your device.
5. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal data.
We share information only as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete corporate transactions such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the Service, including providers for authentication, cloud infrastructure, storage, analytics, diagnostics, and push notifications.
6. Third-party services used by Swaptape
Swaptape currently relies on third-party providers that have their own privacy terms. These may include:
- Apple, for Sign in with Apple: Apple Privacy Policy
- Expo, for push notification services and app platform tooling: Expo Privacy Policy
- PostHog, for product analytics and error tracking: PostHog Privacy Policy
- Cloudflare, for backend and storage infrastructure: Cloudflare Privacy Policy
These third parties may process data according to their own policies when they act as independent controllers or according to our instructions when they act as our processors or service providers.
7. App Store privacy categories
To help users understand our App Store privacy disclosures, the categories of data associated with the current app behavior may include:
- Contact Info: name and email address
- Identifiers: user ID and device or installation identifiers
- User Content: audio recordings, uploaded images for tape labels, comments, reactions, and other content you create in the app
- Usage Data: product interaction data
- Diagnostics: crash data and similar diagnostic information
Whether a category is linked to you or used for app functionality, analytics, or diagnostics depends on how that category is processed in the Service.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain security and records, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal obligations.
- Account data is generally retained while your account remains active.
- Recordings, label artwork, comments, reactions, and group-related data are retained while needed to provide the Service and related group functionality.
- Technical logs, analytics, and diagnostics may be retained for shorter operational periods or longer where needed for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal data associated with your account unless we must retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.
Please note that deleting your account may be blocked until you transfer ownership of groups you own or remove other members from those groups, because the current Service requires that ownership issue to be resolved first.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, objection to, or portability of your personal data.
- Update certain profile information in the app.
- Manage notification permissions in your device settings and in the app.
- Stop using the app at any time.
Uninstalling the app stops future collection from that device, but it does not by itself delete your account or previously stored data. To request deletion, use the in-app delete account flow where available or contact us at support@swaptape.app.
10. Children
Swaptape is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data to us, contact us at support@swaptape.app so we can review and take appropriate action.
11. Security and international transfers
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, and disclosure. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including by service providers that operate internationally. Where required, we take steps intended to provide appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
12. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we may update the effective date above and provide notice through the app, our website, or other appropriate means.
